The WEBANCOR Adjustable Bowed Roll.
More advanced than the fixed bowed roll, this unit can be adjusted to do things that the FIXED BOW cannot. The adjustable Bowed Roll not only will rotate on its axis but will also increase or decrease the bow as well.
More advanced than the fixed bowed roll, this unit can be adjusted to do things that the FIXED BOW cannot. The adjustable Bowed Roll not only will rotate on its axis but will also increase or decrease the bow as well.
More complicated in construction and in its operation, it is also much more expensive than the simple bowed roll. However when it is required it makes much more sense. The versatility of the adjustable roll makes it ideal for slitting machines that require its operation to separate the slits to prevent interleaving. This operation usually requires the use of two bowed rolls, one following directly after the other. One will separate the rolls, the second will then line up the slits in a straight line in order to wind a straight roll. This type of Bowed roll is available in configurations for narrow roll slitting, this is accomplished by using more bearings per roll. This also provides a smoother, consistent bow.
The unique internal frame of the WEBANCOR Adjustable Bowed Roll allows easy adjustment of the bow without sacrificing the rigidity and vibration absorption features. This frame moves easily with the adjustment, not fighting it like some designs.
The design of the modular internal structure reduces the labour costs by allowing parts to be manufactured on CNC machines. The center bearing housings are all the same and only the two outer housings are custom to fit the length of the roll
Low fiction electric motor quality bearings are standard. Higher quality bearings are used for special applications.
Numerous types of mounts are available, from the simplest where the roll ends are drilled and tapped to allow the roll to be bolted to the machine side frames. Simple and complex bearing mounts are available with handwheel adjustment of the bow. Solid locking of the roll is standard. The picture shows a handwheel adjuster that is standard on the Fully adjustable and optional on the Fixed bow roll.
